great horned owl

oil painting of a great horned owl in the mojave desert. this was done for the local "Red Rock art contest" in which they were featuring pictures of the native aviary. used two photos as a reference and combined them; one was a picture of the green desert night bg, and the other was a picture of an owl in the day, so i had to estimate what the shadow would look like in that perspective.
